Overnight financing. Because a leveraged share CFD is effectively a borrowed position, a financing charge accrues daily on long positions and may be credited or debited on shorts, depending on prevailing rates. Over weeks, this cost compounds — share CFDs suit shorter holding periods than outright share ownership.
